We are very happy to offer another one of our most popular models by one of Britain’s most recognised piano manufacturers, Chappell.

Chappell & Co was founded in 1811 by Samuel and Johann Chappell in Britain. For a long time, the Chappell name dominated the UK piano market, along with Kemble, Knight and Welmar, and is widely regarded as one of Britain's finest manufacturers, with a reputation for high quality, long-lasting instruments.

The Chappell 110 was among the most popular models of British upright pianos during its time of production. The intelligent design of the 110 combines compactness with performance as it was intended to satisfy pianists while remaining sympathetic to space restrictions and contemporary home furnishings. The 110 contains the largest soundboard area and string length possible in a piano of its size and this is reflected in the instrument's volume and depth of tone. This upright is an excellent, modern instrument and another fine example of British piano manufacturing.

This 110 offers everything that we would expect from a Chappell piano of this vintage. It boasts a full 88 note keyboard with a nice volume and rich tone, which is coupled with a balanced and responsive touch.

The production of Chappell pianos was moved to Kemble's 'state of the art' factory in Milton Keynes. Kemble (an eventual subsidiary of Yamaha Co) produced Chappell pianos right up to the year 2000

This piano was purchased new in 1978 and has been owned by the same family since. This well constructed upright is housed in a modern satin mahogany case which is nicely proportioned across the whole cabinet.

 

Like all of our pianos offered for sale, this Chappell has been thoroughly reconditioned in our workshop by our specialised technicians. The piano has been expertly reconditioned and serviced (regulated, tuned and toned/voiced) to ensure that it is playing to the fullest potential and will provide long-term satisfaction to the new owners.
