Sykes & Sons is first and foremost a piano restoration workshop. Much of our time is spent restoring, rebuilding, regulating, and preparing instruments rather than standing behind a sales counter. Seeing customers by appointment allows us to devote the care and attention each piano deserves while ensuring every visitor receives the same level of dedicated service.

Choosing a piano should never feel rushed. It is a deeply personal decision, and every musician arrives with different needs, experience, and aspirations. Whether you are purchasing your very first piano or searching for an instrument to support decades of playing, an appointment gives us the opportunity to understand exactly what you are looking for and guide you accordingly.

Because we welcome only one appointment at a time, your visit is never interrupted by other customers. There is no pressure to make a quick decision and no competition for our attention. Instead, you are free to spend time with the instruments, compare different pianos, ask as many questions as you wish, and discover which one truly feels right.

Our aim has never been to sell a piano as quickly as possible. We want you to leave with complete confidence that you have found an instrument you will continue to enjoy for many years to come. Sykes & Sons is a restoration workshop before it is a showroom. Throughout the day we may be voicing a piano, regulating an action, carrying out delicate repairs, or meeting privately with customers. Many of these tasks require complete concentration, and frequent interruptions inevitably affect the quality of our work.
