In recent weeks, we have discovered, with considerable disappointment, that text and photographs from our website have been copied and used elsewhere without permission. Some of these have appeared in private piano sale adverts, while others have been found on unrelated websites.
We want to begin by sincerely thanking our customers and friends who brought this to our attention. Your care, vigilance, and trust mean the world to us.
Protecting Our Work and Preserving Trust
At Sykes & Sons, our reputation has never relied on marketing tricks or borrowed words. It has grown from genuine expertise, years of hands-on experience, and a deep commitment to honesty and craftsmanship. Everything we publish, from our articles and photographs to our piano descriptions and advice, is created with care and precision by people who love what they do. Each piece of content reflects countless hours of research and the shared knowledge of our small but passionate team.
We choose to share this knowledge freely because we believe that good information should be available to everyone. Families, teachers, and piano enthusiasts deserve clear and trustworthy guidance when choosing or caring for their instruments. Our aim has always been to raise standards in the piano world and to help people make informed choices that bring long-term satisfaction.
What we cannot accept is the unauthorised use of our work for someone else’s commercial gain. Copying our content and presenting it as one’s own is not simply a matter of words or pictures. It misrepresents who we are, and it risks misleading genuine buyers into believing they are dealing with the same expertise and integrity that our customers know and trust. That is not fair to anyone.
We believe in openness, but we also believe in honesty. If you would like to share our content for educational purposes, please do so with proper credit. We are always happy to see our material used to inform and inspire, provided it is done respectfully. However, we will take firm action against any individual or business that uses our work to promote or misrepresent their own services.
To our valued customers and wider community, thank you for standing with us. Please continue to let us know if you see our content being used elsewhere without permission or credit. Your support helps us protect our brand, uphold our values, and keep our knowledge available for those who genuinely wish to learn.
We are proud of what we do, and we remain committed to doing it with integrity. Thank you for your continued trust, loyalty, and encouragement. It means more to us than words can say.
