Knight - K10

Upright Piano

The Knight Company was founded in 1936 by Alfred E. Knight, a man who dedicated his life to producing pianos of exceptional tone and quality while setting the standards high in piano manufacture.

Knight pianos are famous for being extremely well-made instruments with only top quality materials used in their construction. They are praised for being extremely stable instruments with a rich tone and their capacity of satisfying the more demanding of pianists.

The K10 is the largest model from Knight's range and is generally considered to be one of the best upright pianos ever produced in the UK. Internally and performance-wise the Exotic model is the regular K10,  housed in a cabinet which was styled to conform with more modern and contemporary home furnishings. This piano has a satin teak case, which was Knight's most popular finish.

The bass strings in the K10 are designed to cross the treble strings at a greater angle, so the strings are longer than most other pianos of this height. This extra length allows the Knight K10 to match the tone and volume of bigger upright pianos such as the Yamaha U1, with many musicians expressing the opinion of the K10 being equal in sound to a 5ft grand piano.

All models from Knight are very popular and sought after pianos, which is why we always aim to have at least one in stock. This Knight, in a refreshed satin teak cabinet, offers a light and responsive touch with a warm, rich bass, colourful tenor and a clear, singing treble.

Like all our pianos, this lovely K10 has been reconditioned in our workshop, with all new parts where necessary and then thoroughly tuned, toned and regulated to ensure a flawless performance and many years of satisfaction.
