COVID-19 Response

At Sykes & Sons Pianos, family and community has always been at the heart of what we do and we want to assure you that we are continuing to prioritise the health and safety of all of our customers, employees and their families during these unprecedented times.

As the situation caused by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues to evolve on a daily basis, we would like to keep our customers informed and updated with the actions and measures that we are taking to ensure best practice; in accordance with the advice of the World Health Organisation, our Government and Public Health Authorities.

In keeping with government guidance and to do all we can in preventing the spread of Covid-19, our showroom/workshop is currently closed to customers, however we are available to you online or over the phone, and our delivery service is operational.

  • Any and all off-site piano tunings, repairs or other home visits have been cancelled until further notice.

  • We are not open for viewings until further notice. 


Our delivery service has now resumed and we have implemented safety precautions to ensure that we are doing everything we can to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to protect our customers and staff.

  • Our delivery team will be equipped with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure the safety of our staff and customers. PPE includes face masks, latex gloves and hand sanitiser.

  • Brief enquiries will be made regarding the health of every person in the household before the delivery date is confirmed.

  • An SMS alert will be sent to the customer from our delivery team 30 minutes before their arrival.

  • Each customer will receive a phone call by our delivery team 15 minutes prior to their arrival, to discuss the access to individual properties.

  • We need the door and windows left wide-open when our team arrives.

  • Customers are to pre-advise the chosen location of their piano and leave markers on the floor to indicate their desired piano placement.

  • We request that any occupants remain in another room or upstairs while the team are inside the property.

  • Our team will call the customer from outside to ensure that they are happy with the instrument and its position before they leave.
